Photo abstract acts by Ron Vikers – BODIES
BODIES are photo abstract acts. The images show fragments of the body, the contours of the female body. The form suggests a blissful sybaritic rest, it emanates saturation with oneself, femininity, and what is attractive. They are freely endless poses, bodies satisfied with themselves. A lazy, comfortable lifestyle in luxury. The idea of a prosperous life, indulging in pleasure.
Ron Vickers story
Ron studied parallel linguistics and graphic art, learned calligraphy in Japan and tried monastic life in China. He practices a combination of four traditional systems perpetuated over the millennia: Tai Chi, Qigong, Yoga and Chinese calligraphy.
Ron was raised in a family of Dutch functionaries. He was a rebellious boy, frequently changed schools, became independent at 18, interrupted and resumed studies. His fascination with calligraphy goes back to his childhood when, by using icons and symbols, he created his own alphabet.
He adheres to post-painterly abstraction. While followers of this trend are ruthless in rejecting the inner and mysticism of abstract expressionism, Ron creates his own way of perceiving and communicating, his own approaches to the composition and basic elements of the medium itself: form, color, texture and scale.

Lazy, comfortable lifestyle in luxury. The idea of a prosperous life, indulging in pleasure.
In BODIES, Vickers wants to show the infinity and durability of certain states. He considers the pursuit of happiness as a permanent process. He recognizes it as the goal of life. His art symbolizes a search for fulfillment. That is why the forms of photo abstract acts are fluid, soft changeable, not always obvious.
The power of line in photo abstract acts
The first impression of contact with the works of Ron Vickers of the BODIES series is the power of line. Strong contours. Strongly marked and dividing the image into parts. The division is so decisive that it does not allow both spaces to penetrate. It creates an abstract world. The photo abstract act and abstract space on which it is presented. Photography is soft in expression, a bit ascetic. It reflects what is happening in the inner part.
The artist used a precise line and rigorously limited the composition. The abstract form is meant to express the infinity of the process. To achieve this goal, the naturalistic representation of nature is eliminated. Photo abstract acts are not obvious or direct.
Power of abstract emotions
In his photo abstract acts, Ron Vickers looks for an answer to the question of how much potential an expression line contains. The line creates the artwork. The photographer analyzes how it is possible to create the illusion of existence. He wants to show us the physical presence. He is interested in a static pose, a specific state. State of silence, satisfaction, happiness. the line is the most essential element of the BODIES series of photo abstract acts. It was chosen to show its emotional impact. Thanks to this, he wants to achieve photographs with an emotional effect of great power.
